ORWH U3 Interdisciplinary Research Administrative Supplement
The ORWH U3 Administrative Supplement Program targets interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research focused on the effects of sex and/or gender influences at the intersection of several social determinants—including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, education, health literacy, gender identity, and urban or rural residence—in human health and illness. This research includes preclinical, clinical, behavioral, and translational studies to address health disparities among groups of women in the U.S. that are underrepresented, underserved, and underreported in biomedical research.
To apply for this administrative supplement, projects must include a focus on one or more NIH-designated health disparity populations, which include African American or Black, Hispanic or Latina, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian American, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander communities, socioeconomically disadvantaged populations, underserved rural populations, sexual and gender minorities, and people with disabilities. Research on two or more populations is encouraged.
