Congress established two advisory groups to guide ORWH's work. Research and health care professionals outside of the government make up the Advisory Committee on Research on Women's Health (ACRWH). Membership of the Coordinating Committee on Research on Women's Health (CCRWH) is composed of liaisons from the 27 NIH Institutes and Centers.
ACRWH and CCRWH consider continuing gaps in knowledge and emerging scientific opportunities for current research priorities in women's health and make recommendations for research priorities based on these considerations. The two committees review and approve these recommendations annually.
