The Global Health Program for Fellows and Scholars, funded by NIH’s Fogarty International Center, Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH), and other Institutes and Centers, collaborates with U.S. university partners to provide mentored global health research training opportunities in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) around the world. Students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty both from the United States and from LMICs may apply through affiliated universities for funding to support a 12-month placement at a research institution in an LMIC.

A recent recipient of a Global Health Fellowship, Racheal S. Dube Mandishora, Ph.D., received her award through the University of California Global Health Institute, a program affiliate. Dr. Mandishora is a 2018 doctoral graduate of the molecular virology program at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences, where she is currently a Lecturer. Dr. Mandishora researches genomic diversity in the human papillomavirus and associated anogenital cancers. She is currently completing a study on HPV variants in vulval cancers in patients with HIV.
