A new website (https://combatcovid.hhs.gov) created by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) serves as a central resource for the public and health care providers to find information about different stages of COVID-19 illness, NIH-supported clinical trials to prevent and treat COVID-19, and locations to donate plasma. The website provides clear, easy-to-understand information for:
- People who have never had COVID-19 and may be interested in volunteering for a vaccine trial or a trial to test another type of prevention
- People who have COVID-19 and want to participate in a clinical trial for a treatment
- People who have recovered from COVID-19 and may be interested in donating plasma that can be used to treat serious cases of the disease
- Doctors and other health care providers who want more information to guide their patients who have COVID-19
HHS plans to use the website to provide the public and health care providers with important information on COVID-19 vaccines as they become available.
