ORWH is offering two Science Policy Scholar Travel Awards to support the development of junior investigators focused on women’s health or sex and gender differences who are also interested in research policy. The Travel Awards provide up to $3,000 each to defray the costs of attending the Organization for the Study of Sex Differences' (OSSD) annual meeting on May 4–7, 2020, in Marina del Rey, CA.
“Sex Differences Across the Lifespan” is the theme of OSSD 2020, and meeting organizers are now accepting proposals for individual presentations, group symposia, and poster sessions on all areas of sex and gender differences research, including basic biology, translational science, and clinical research. ORWH Director Janine A. Clayton, M.D., will deliver the keynote lecture. More information on the OSSD meeting is available here.
ORWH requests that junior investigators interested in the Travel Awards submit an abstract on a policy-related matter connected to women’s health or sex and gender differences for consideration as a poster, oral session, or symposium at the OSSD meeting. A panel of experts will review the abstracts, and the authors of the two selected abstracts will receive the travel awards. Attendance at the OSSD meeting will be a unique opportunity for investigators to network with leading scientists and clinicians working to advance sex and gender inclusion and policy.
Applications for the Travel Awards are due February 3, 2020, and ORWH will notify award recipients on March 13, 2020.
Eligibility requirements and instructions for applying for the Travel Awards are available here.
