Date and Time

– July 23, 2021, 05:00 PM EDT

More details to come.

Event sponsored by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and ORWH.

Event Information

The workshop is designed to bring together basic and clinical investigators working in the area of early pregnancy loss (EPL) that is not related to aneuploidy to identify knowledge gaps, barriers to advancing the science, promising approaches, and needed tools.

The workshop will focus on the following discussion topics:

  • EPL definitions and data
  • Impact of maternal health, infection, and immunological factors
  • Identification of nutritional, environmental, and social determinants
  • Maternal and paternal factors in EPL
  • Model systems and research tools

This workshop aims to advance mechanistic understanding of implantation and reveal a range of key factors, not limited to genetics, involved in implantation and placentation. Both are important for early pregnancy establishment and maintenance, and abnormalities can contribute to EPL, birth defects, intrauterine fetal demise, and pregnancy complications.

Individuals who need reasonable accommodations to participate in this activity should contact Liza Cook at at least 5 days in advance.
