The Office of Dietary Supplements (ODS) was established in November 1995 with the congressionally mandated purpose “to promote scientific study of the benefits of dietary supplements in maintaining health and preventing chronic disease and other health-related conditions” and “to explore more fully the potential role of dietary supplements… to improve health care.” 

Now, more than 25 years later, the ODS will hold a virtual 2-day scientific symposium to mark the occasion. The symposium will:

• Showcase ODS contributions to landmark scientific accomplishments in dietary supplement research
• Feature presentations by experts in the field of dietary supplement science 
• Highlight ODS’s part in training the next generation of dietary supplement researchers
• Discuss considerations for the future of dietary supplements research
