The Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health (BIRCWH, pronounced "BIRCH") is a mentored career-development program. It connects junior faculty, known as BIRCWH Scholars, to senior faculty with shared research interest in women's health and sex-differences research.

The Specialized Centers of Research Excellence (SCORE) on Sex Differences program is an innovative interdisciplinary research program focusing on sex differences and major medical conditions affecting women. The SCORE program supports established scientists conducting research at centers across the country that integrates basic, clinical, and translational approaches to incorporating a sex and gender focus.

 

U3 logoUnderstudied, Underrepresented, and Underreported Populations
The ORWH U3 Administrative Supplement Program targets interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and multidisciplinary research focused on the effects of sex/gender influences at the intersection of several social determinants—including, but not limited to, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, education, health literacy, gender identity, and urban/rural residence—in human health and illness.
