Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Scientists continue to study the exact causes of breast cancer. Research has shown that women with certain risk factors are more likely than other women to develop breast cancer. These risk factors include: older age; obesity; a family history of the disease; having changes in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes; and having other specific genetic changes.
