ORWH Initiatives with the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education

ORWH supports workshops developed by the Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE) in the NIH Office of Intramural Research. OITE coordinates programs, provides individual assistance, and prepares resources to enhance the scientific, professional and career development of NIH trainees. Postdoctoral, research, and clinical fellows are the largest NIH trainee population, 50 percent of whom are women. Graduate students and post-baccalaureate Intramural Research Training Award recipients also participate. Examples of ORWH-supported OITE professional development workshops include:

  • Assertiveness Training
  • Basic Science Writing
  • Career Advancement Toolkit
  • English Language Programs for Foreign Fellows
  • Leadership Development Program
  • Mentor Training
  • Scientists Teaching Science
  • Writing and Publishing a Scientific Paper
  • Diversity Training
  • Management Training
  • Science Skills Boot Camp for Summer Interns
