Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH)
Deborah (Debbie) Cohen, joined ORWH in 2014. Employed at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1991, Ms. Cohen was responsible for developing and analyzing career training programs for trainees in NIH’s intramural program. Ms. Cohen orchestrated communication initiatives and events for 1,000 summer interns and 600 postbaccalaureate participants in NIH’s highly competitive and prestigious campus programs. Her work with the intramural program included assisting with developing application services for 10,000 prospective trainees. Ms. Cohen also helped recruit and place minority students in NIH programs. Additionally, Ms. Cohen provided guidance to the ORWH-NIH-FAES program and served as a representative to the NIH Coordinating Committee on Research on Women’s Health.
Ms. Cohen earned a B.A. in education from California State University Northridge, and an M.S. in management from the University of Maryland. In addition, Ms. Cohen is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator.
