Judith Regensteiner, Ph.D.
Judith Regensteiner, Ph.D., is director of the Center for Women’s Health Research and professor of Medicine in the Divisions of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her research expertise is in the cardiovascular effects of diabetes with a specific focus on women with type 2 diabetes, since women appear to have more significant abnormalities than men with diabetes. She has been principal investigator or co-investigator of current and previous large grants in type 2 diabetes and peripheral arterial disease. As co-founder and director of the Center for Women’s Health Research at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Dr. Regensteiner leads an interdisciplinary team of researchers who focus on women’s health and sex difference research. The Center for Women’s Health Research seeks to accelerate improvements in women’s health by uncovering answers to medical questions related to cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Dr. Regensteiner is principal investigator and program director for the ORWH’s Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's Health program, a K-12 grant that funds early stage women’s health researchers, an American Diabetes Association grant, and is an investigator for the National Institutes of Health’s “Look Ahead” program.
